Hello and welcome to the LFO Livestock Team Web Site. My name is Nelson McCracken and I am the FFA Advisor at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. On this web site you will find information about the history of the LFO Livestock Team as well as helpful and informative videos, blogs, pictorial slideshows, that should be helpful to livestock enthusiasts at every level. Showing livestock is one of the many activities our FFA chapter participates in and is the cornerstone of our Agriculture Education Program. I am a firm believer that showing livestock is an activity that can mold our students lives by teaching them life skills that will be valuable for a lifetime.
Seventeen-year-old Zach Autwell drove the lamb that won the grand championship in the livestock sheep show in Athens on Saturday, Sept. 21. Autwell is a senior at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School. In only his second show and his second time in the grand drive, Autwell shows much improvement and determination. “Zach is a great kid and has an awesome future in FFA. I am extremely proud of all my showmen,” said Nelson McCracken, advisor at LFO. Also placing in the competition were senior Rocky Tammel who received third place in the grand drive and junior Nick Bailey who placed third in showmanship.
